i'm so overdue for a new pair of glasses; it's getting to be a bit embarrassing.  i've had my current ones for 12 years.  12!  years!  i try to wear them only when no one else is around.  to be fair, up until recently, i didn't really need to wear my glasses very often, just for the usual driving at night and watching movies or TV.  but grandma's not getting any younger over here and neither are her eyeballs.

i've been on the hunt for new glasses for a while and was recently introduced to warby parker.

this is how it works:
you pick 5 frames from their site.
they send them to you.
you have 5 days to figure out which ones you want.
you send them back to them and they send you the ones you picked with your prescription in it.

they're in the states so it's cheaper if you live there - $100.
if you're in canada it's $120 + $10 shipping.  i don't know how much duty is on top of that but even if it's a lot, your grand total should still be cheaper than most glasses you'd get at the opticians here in montreal.

also, if you go onto their site, you can upload a photo of yourself and virtually try on different frames.
