crush of the month: first aid kit.
they were such little nuggets when they started out... albeit ridiculously talented, swedish little nuggets. but it's been over 3 years since johanna and klara soderberg made their mind-blowing youtube cover video of tiger mountain song, and, now, our little babies are all grownsed up.
i cannot tell a lie: i am slightly fascinated with their evolution. and talent. and style.
their next album, the lion's roar, which is the follow-up to their debut (the jack white-produced) the big black & the blue, is being produced by mike mogus (of bright eyes fame), and is set to be released on january 24th, 2012. jazz hands!
tip: you can tell what period the girls are in by the length of klara's hair. the shorter the hair, the younger they are. if she cuts her hair, forget i said that.
i'm excited for this:
more first aid kit here.

you might like this.
this book kept showing up on my radar so i finally i read it this summer. and, now, my friend, tasha, is reading it too. i really enjoyed it. and tasha is too.
the author, elizabeth lesser, is the co-founder of the omega institute, which, if you're not familiar with it, is the world's largest non-profit educational retreat centre for holistic studies. lesser has met some of, if not most of, the world's greatest scientific, spiritual, and creative minds... so i figured that it was safe to assume that she'd have some insight to share.
just thought you might be interested.
