my 10 most-played songs on itunes.

a friend just posted her most-played itunes song on FB, which got me wondering what my most-played itunes songs are.  i am sharing them with you now because i would rather do anything than take out the recycling and move my car, which is what i actually should be doing.

10.  missing parts - jeff pianki (306 plays)

i always feel an extra dose of affinity for artists that i discovered early on.  and that's the case with this fine gent.  he posted youtube videos.  i watched.  he recorded songs.  i downloaded and listened.  306 times apparently.



9.  red wine lips - lisa mitchell (314 plays)

this was sort of my song with an ex.  plus, i work from home and put it on just about every work playlist i've ever made so it wracked up quite a few plays.



8. something on your mind - katie moore (319 plays)

i can't quite explain how this song got on this list.  not that i don't love katie moore.  and not that i'm not completely mesmerized by her voice every time i hear it.  but there are songs of hers that i love a little more than this one.  again, i suspect that this might be a case of it being a good work playlist song.

i can't find a video for this song so here's her ridiculously heart-wrenching rendition of the mcgarrigle sisters' "heart like a wheel".



7.  the sounds are always begging - bonnie prince billy (319 plays)

this is, in real life (not just in itunes life), my all-time favourite song in the history of all songs everywhere.  so, yeah, it better be on this fucking list!

the first time i heard it, my friends covered it at one of their shows.  and i could have cried a sea of tears as i sat there listening.

whenever i find out that someone also loves this song, i'm sold on them immediately.  no need to tell me anything more. you love this song, we are soulmates.  end of story.

no shocker here.  everyone who likes the music i like loves this song.

i never would have guessed this one either but...

proof that if you put a little country ditty on a non-country album, it will be my favourite.  guay-RON-teed.

really, itunes?!  number 1?

i think this one's on here because it's been on my itunes for a long time, so, of oourse, it's been played more often.

but i do love me some basia.  i'd have probably picked "december" over this one ... "how your eyes were december/when you had june in your heart"... that seems a bit more number one-worthy to me but what do i know?!  machines don't lie.
