pet peeve/FYI.

for the past few years, there have been lots of DIY jewellery display/organizer projects all over the internet.  and every time i stumble across one, i have the same thought, which is this: though, in theory, they're a nice idea, the reality is that, most metals (like silver, copper and lower carat golds) tarnish when they're left out...  something about the oxygen and sulphur in the air. 

the best way to store jewellery is to keep it in a dry and sealed bag, pouch, or box.  otherwise, you end up having to clean it before you wear it.  if it's costume jewellery and there's no metal on it, it should be fine but, otherwise, yeah... you might want to ziplock those babies up.

i don't know why i felt the need to share this but... i guess i was just thinking that it'd be a shame to spend lots of time on a project like this only to realize that it's maybe not such a good idea afterall.
