crush of the month: autumn de wilde.

i think i discovered autumn de wilde when i first saw (what is now) my all-time favourite video, death cab for cutie's "different names for the same thing", which she directed.  i had seen and admired her photos before then, i just hadn't realized that the same person was behind all of this awesome work.

a few years ago, when the death cab video came out, i sent her a message through myspace to tell her how much i admired her work and she wrote me a really sweet message back.  how cute is that?!

 

 

 

after his death, she compiled a book of photographs she'd taken of elliott smith.  

 

she's also directed videos for other artists, including jenny lewis and the bird and the bee.

if i had to change jobs with someone, she'd be a the top of my list of contenders.
